PL Exit Signs are legal in Australia

The addition of sustainability objectives into the National Construction Code (NCC) happened in 2011 and they remain in the NCC today.

Photoluminescent Exit Signs were included in NCC 2014, due to increasing international acceptance of their use in egress systems in buildings overseas, coupled with a demand for low cost and energy efficient systems.

Now, ASTS5367:2021 will be in NCC 2025, modernising Deemed To Satisfy (DTS) provisions for Hybrid Photoluminescent Exit Signs by addressing all aspects of installation and performance.

Smarterlite offers a range of Photoluminescent Environmental Exit Signs – see more information here.
